The Chinese Taipei Film Archive, in cooperation
with Government Information Office (GIO), Republic of China,
is a non-profit foundation and the sole film preservation
organization in Taiwan and a FIAF member. Since 2003, CTFA
organizes Taiwan International Animation Festival every year.
TIAF is the only large scale festival focusing on animation
in Taiwan, which aims to promote international exchanges,
advocate creativity, promote better understanding of animation
and build dialogues between professionals, filmmakers and
the audience. TIAF welcomes all animations using different
formats and techniques.
TIAF showcases the best of Taiwanese and international animated
films and draws a diverse audience over 30,000 people each
year. In addition, the festival organizes panels and seminars,
exhibitions and special events. So far TIAF is recognized
as a successful event, averagely, more than 300 titles from
over 30 countries were presented each year.
The 4th TIAF will take place in September 1 to 10, 2006. We
are now calling for the entries. The deadline is April 30,
2006. To encourage the animation productions and provide the
Taiwanese animators a stage to present their works, TIAF will
start a domestic competition this year and it will hold international
competition in the future. The venue is Taipei Warner Village
and will tour to Taichung and Kaohsiung after the Festival.
